Omar Rodriguez Lopez Japanese projects “4 title continuous release”

■第2弾　3月23日発売「Un Escorpion Perfumado」■

さそりを意味するスペイン語で題された今作品は日本人にとってはとてもうれしい、待望の作品である。
2010年9月のメタモルフォーゼにてオマー･ロドリゲス・ロペス・グループ名義で出演した際、オマー自らが「太宰治にインスパイアされて作った曲」と紹介し、一気に話題になった未発表曲”Agua Dulce De Pulpo”（ベスト盤にも収録）がついに音源としてリリースされる!!!
海外ではデジタル配信をメインに、自身のウェブストアのみでごく少量のCDを限定発売したもののほぼ完売状態。CD盤として手に出来るのは実質この日本盤のみということに。

■第3弾　4月13日発売　「どういたしまして」　

オマー・ロドリゲス・ロペス2ヶ月連続リリース第3弾は『どういたしまして』という初の日本語タイトル(!)にしてライヴ・アルバム。
こちらは2010年9月のUSツアー時のものだが、同時期に同じ編成にてメタモルフォーゼでプレイするために来日しており、こちらとほぼ同内容だ。
オマーのライヴといえば本家ザ・マーズ・ヴォルタでもお馴染みの通り、スタジオ・アルバムとは全く違うアレンジになることが多く、ライヴ・ヴァージョンがこうして形になることはファンにとっても嬉しい限りだ。
本作には未発表曲“My Horror Is in Park, Drive Me Away Troubled Heart”も収録されており、またもやオマーの新たなる挑戦が聴ける。
ソロ作品としては2作品目のライヴ・アルバムだが、前ライヴ作はアナログ盤とデジタル配信のみで販売されており、CDとしてリリースされるのは『どういたしまして』が初めて。
加えて本作のアメリカ本国でのCDリリースは自身のオフィシャル・サイト経由のみであり、通常流通形態でCDを入手出来るのは日本盤のみとなる。

第4弾　4月20日発売　 「Mantra Hiroshima」

“オマー・ロドリゲス・ロペス2ヶ月連続リリース、最後を飾るのは『MANTRA HIROSHIMA』。
『El Grupo Nuevo De Omar Rodriguez Lopez』名義でリリースされた『Cryptomnesia』以来のザック･ヒル(ヘラ)との共演作品だ。
‘マントラ’は真言を意味する言葉でありタイトルからして宗教的要素が感じられるが、内容もタイトルとリンクしており、キーボード中心でそういった雰囲気を濃くした作風。
編成はオマー/ホアン（ザ・マーズ・ヴォルタ）/ザックのトリオでシンプルだが、個性派がぶつかり合うことで実験的にもなり、ジャズやフュージョンのスタイルを取り込んだ、これまでのアルバムと違うことにも挑戦している。
こちらも本国ではデジタル配信をメインに限定盤CDは自身のオフィシャル・サイト経由のみの発売、今回の連作企画の最後を飾るにふさわしい作品だ。

Zechs Marquise is a four man band from Texas and can be described as a magnificent band that was brought into the music world by the Rodriguez-Lopez family. Marfred and Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, with their childhood friends Matthew Wilkson and Marco Smith are doing probably one of the most satisfying works in today’s psychedelic scene. Zechs Marquise’s bass player Marfred Rodriguez-Lopez answered our questions about this magical band, in addition he shared one of his luscious dreams with us. (Correction: Zechs Marquise is now a 5 piece band having added another of the RLP brothers Rikardo Rodriguez-Lopez on Keyboards)

Offprint: I know that your name comes from a character in an anime called Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. All of you guys into anime culture? Is this a kind of pastime activity for you?

Zechs Marquise: Not all of us. My brother and I were into to it in our early teens. I continued following it a bit from until I was about 21 or so, then I lost touch with it completely.
